I got my Kitten the owner says she was 12 weeks but to be honest she is alot older I would say between 6-12 months, she is abit of a handful like trying to escape but I think we can handle her, The problem is she does not like drinking water on its own I have to add alittle normal milk in there too is it ok to do that or not? Thanks in advance x

We have tried her with different things she looks at the water then turns away we add alittle milk and she laps it up like she has not drunk anything in days, I will try and get her some cat milk. I think it maybe our water as we do not even like drinking it on its own or we might try getting some bottled water for her.

Most everyone would agree that cats love drinking a bit of milk. While this is true, it does not mean that milk is healthy for them.
Many cats are lactose intolerant because they lack the enzyme lactase. Without this enzyme, their bodies have a difficult time breaking down and digesting milk and dairy food products. This upset to the system can cause diarrhea and skin irritation.
If your cat loves milk do not despair, there are several companies such as Whiskas that sell lactose free milk products that are designed with a cats digestive system in mind. You might try getting one or two cans of the milk made just for cats.
I have written an article concerning things you shouldnt feed your kitty. If youd like to check it out heres the link. Good luck with new new kitty :-)

Its really not normal for a cat to have milk after they are weaned and can cause digestive upset. With all animals, think about what they would eat or drink if they were wild. How would a wild cat get milk once it was weaned? To get her to drink water, you could try a different shape or color of the dish. She will drink when she gets thirsty. It would be better to just hold out and be patient. Putting something in her water now could lead to a life long habit.

do no longer supply cats any milk, they're Lactose illiberal. My cat likes yogurt for some reason, even though it makes him ill and he farts in a while. a good determination is the canned cat formulation that they have on the puppy save . It would not have lactose. or you need to attempt Rice Milk. i does no longer do soy reason it has sugar and hormonal outcomes. undergo in recommendations NO Milk! right here is the Fox humane association handle it: "do no longer supply Cats Milk opposite to the known theory that cats love milk—and maximum do exactly like the style—it always isn't good for them. for many cats, it reasons digestive disenchanted and infrequently diarrhea. that is by way of fact maximum cats can not digest milk suitable by way of fact it is composed of lactose (milk sugar), that would reason unfastened bowels. There are especially formulated kitty “milks” obtainable at puppy shops that have not got cow's milk in them or that are taken care of with the enzyme lactase to interrupt down the milk sugar and make it digestable. Please evaluate finding for a type of next time you may decide to furnish kitty milk."

people say that normal milk is not good for cats. i have a kitten (25 weeks old) who will also not drink water or cat milk. i give her a small amount of semi skimmed milk twice a day and it has done her no harm at all.

A little is not going to hurt her. A lot may give her diarrhea, but that's all.
I would be sure to change the water frequently, though. I don't know if diluted milk would sour or not, but the cat will probably not like it if it does turn sour.

If she's that old she doesn't need milk. Make sure her water is always fresh (change every day!) and clean. If she's thirsty, she'll drink!
Also, if she's eating canned food she probably won't drink as much as when she's eating dry food.

if you want to play it safe you can buy kitten milk from pet stores. its a supplement for kittens who've been separated from their mothers too early. i raised my cat on it from 4 weeks till she was old enough to eat regular cat food ; )

I would try cat milk. You can get it at any chained pet store i.e. PetSmart or PetCo.
