If you read the bible with your head and not your heart, you are wasting your time and you will miss the messages. Why rush and set a time limit?

I partially agree with FC in saying just reading as quickly as you can does not have much value. Meditating or considering what you have read would be however. I heard one good suggestion not long ago. That was to take notes. It was explained this way. Suppose in the first 2 verses, you found a point you had not considered in just that way before and wanted to use it later. If you don't make a note, it may be half way through the chapter or later before you think of anything else. What did you miss? Make the note and then your mind will be free for the next verse(s).
There are many plans that allow you to read all the Bible in differing lengths of time Two or three chapters at a time should do well.
As for the importance, consider 2Timothy 3:16 and Romans 15:4 showing the value of God's Word.

The bible was made for Gods people; you need the help of God's spirit to get the understanding, when you except Jesus as your savior, God will send you a comforter(spirit), to help you understand His words, and help you resist Satan.
The Bible is not a book, you read straight through; you get your answers from a little here and a little there. You need a good study bible, one with a good concordance. Now you can study the bible, by subjects, what ever you want to know about in life, have a problem, the bible can help, want to know what to do, look it up, you will find your answer through out the bible.
I read the Bible straight through in about five months, then I received my study bible, now I am doing fine. A good bible study course will take you through the Bible this way. They will have subjects, give you scriptures to read pertaining to the subject matter. You will see how alive the bible will come, Jest ask God for the understanding.
How important reading the bible is??? How important is your life???

The quandary that numerous parents find themselves in is they don't really have enough time to find the right eBook s and learning structure with which to teach their young ones but with this specific program https://tr.im/nR56U , Children Learning Reading this problem is come to a end.
Children Learning Reading is very extensive, and your youngster could have no problems assimilating the classes because the classes are well-designed. Since the device is based on phonetics, the training method is gradual.
In Children Learning Reading program the instructions are special and can't be present in other understanding methods.

At our Gospel Hall, we started in January to read through the Bible in a year. We would read a book a week, Genesis, then Exodus and so on, and then would receive Bible teaching on the book after our Breaking of Bread in the morning. But we found that there wasn't enough time in 30mins to go through the book to bring out important points. So.... instead of rushing through and trying to read it in a year, we are moving more slowly. We are in Proverbs at the moment, on our 2nd week of the book.
However, reading a single book in one go is amazing. Rather than just dipping in and out, you read it all! You notice things that you hadn't seen before, things appear in a totally different context and you can link things together because you've read it all at once. It is great! And Isaiah only takes 3 hours to read - just 2 movies! And surely reading the Word of God is better than watching films?
I would strongly recommend that you read through the entire Bible, whole books at a time. It is so beneficial. But I wouldn't attempt to do it in a year. You miss out important things because you are rushing to get it done. Do try it. You won't be disappointed.
Reading the Bible every day is very important, although I am sorry to say that I often don't do this myself. It keeps God and his Word fresh in our minds, it uplifts us and prepares us for whatever may come in the day. We should read the Bible as often as we can, as well as pray.
So, read whole books of the Bible at a time and you will be blessed in what you learn. Even better if the entire assembly does it together and then receives teaching upon the book they just read. But meditating upon the Word by yourself is also a good thing to do.
May God Bless you in your endeavours to study His Word.

I like to take my time. I want to figure out what the messages mean to me, or what the message was actually trying to say.
I can tell you, it takes longer than a year.
So many only read the words.

There is only one way to read the bible.
DON'T!
It makes Hilter look good! [remember, genocide is god's idea - he certainly did his fair share - and, Hilter was a Christian].
