It doesn't. It's just the frozen equivalent of sipping water. Mostly it's the placebo effect. Someone convinces you it works, you try it, and "mind-over-body" kicks in and it works for you.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://tr.im/gHn00

A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

It doesn't stop you from feeling nauseous or vomitting just in a situation where you are not allowed to have anything in your stomach it keeps your stomach empty but moistens the mouth. That is why women in labour are allowed ice chips. You feel thirsty but need to keep tummy empty in case you need emergency surgery.

It's self limiting... like eating shelled peanuts.

The ice chips provide a small amount of moisture to keep your mouth and lips from drying out but don't add enough water to your GI tract to be dangerous. Ice is 10 times denser than water, so it would take 10 cups of ice to equal one cup of water.

It doesn't. But gives a person some hydration while slowly giving the stomach something to work on and helping it to get used to things in it again. It also tricks the mouth into thinking it has had something to eat(especially if you chew the ice)

It doesn't. It minimizes the chance of vomiting by limiting the amount of liquid in your stomach, while preventing total dehydration.

With ice chips they melt slowly, and don't hit your stomach in a big rush, which makes your somach contract , and you throw up. It keeps giving you hydration, and doesn't let you dehydrate which makes you worse.
