First of all, decide what breed you want, then find the site of the breed clubs who can put you in touch with reputable breeders: This is a good starting point:

,you can adopt from the local humane society, that pretty cheap. If your looking for a certain breed for example ashington northumberland, then I'd go to AKC.org. Search under breeders. Who knows you may have a breeder near you so you don't have to make a drive. Sometimes be prepared to make a drive. I drove 50 miles to buy my first male breeding lab.

go to petfinder.com and put in your zip code. you can also narrow the search by gender, age, etc. This is how I found my pug puppy that I am adopting - so you really can find the breed you are looking for if you are specific. Mostly shelters, rescues and breed adoption organizations put their animals on there. So you are saving a dog instead of fueling the selling trade and overpopulation.
Also, go to your local pound, spca, shelter, etc. They do often have puppies, if you specifically want a younger dog.

you could place classified ads on Gumtree and Ebay common sufficient. As a number of those persons have talked approximately, you mustn't ever bypass by way of with the transaction devoid of assembly and approving of the recent vendors first, yet there isn't any longer something incorrect with promoting on line!

Hi Try the Kennel Club website - at least you know that the dogs have been looked after in the correct way.

Avoid finding yourself a puppy at a online puppy sale website they are going to rip you off by selling you a sick puppy (by sick that means anything from actually ill to genetic diseases) If you want a pup try:
for a mix breed: www.petfinder.com
purebreed: www.akc.org (then on the left side is a link to breeder referals)
Good Luck!
