I've noticed that born-again Christians always seem to differentiate themselves from regular Christians. Why is this? Why do they feel they must be born-again? Why are they not the equivalent of their regular Christian brother and sister (symbolically I don't mean their actual brother and sister)?

They've got egotism, smugness, arrogance, pride--LOTS of pride. They've also got plenty of judgmental inclinations. Indeed, they're just about perfect, just ask them.

Born again has become a catchphrase. All real Christians are really born-again Christians anyway, if you want to put it that way

When Nicodemus came to Jesus by night and asked him what a man must do to inherit eternal life - Jesus replied that you must be born again
Nic. didn't understand. He thought Jesus was talking about getting back in your mamma's belly. But Jesus explained that it's a spiritual thing, a thing of life change.

Jesus also taught that just as you know a tree by it's fruits, so you know a real Christian by their life.

It doesn't matter what somebody calls themselves.
What really matters is "ARE you a real Christian?"
Cause God doesn't have grandchildren.
We don't get to be a part of his family just because Pop and Mom or Grampappie was one.
If we haven't made the choice to follow Christ ourselves and had a life change, then we really aren't a Christian anyway.

Some people try to use the term born-again to clarify the difference between the nominal who has only the name and the one who really has had a life change.
But I wouldn't say it's always used fairly

I don't remember there being a lot of talk about 'true' and 'fake' christians in the bible. I read about believers and non-believers! What I read said that you must believe and give yourself to Christ. If you do not believe and do not give yourself to Christ then you are NOT a christian. It's that simple. So when you hear people say there are true or false, good or bad, they are making it more difficult than is necessary. YOU BELIEVE OR YOU DON'T. If you believe then you practice the lifestyle as best as you are humanly possible of doing with the understanding that you can be forgiven for your human mistakes.

Born-again in the Bible refers to a spiritual rebirth. In Genesis, God breathed into man which indicates a part of God went into man. When Adam and Eve sinned that part died. To accept Christ as your savior brings that spirit back to life in a rebirth. Every true Christian has this happen. This does not include all church members. But just using the term 'born-again' does not make them any better. Some who use the term are just church members too.

no one is better than anyone; what is born again anyway, you are born only once; you just make a choice to choose God; only God gives the right to be born again; the rest is a man made term; Jesus avoided labeling people and giving terms and accepting all; the problem with man is too many labels , most of the problems in the world today come mainly from labeling people.

Every Christian is "born again".

Jesus said that in John 3. In order to see the kingdom of God, you must be BORN AGAIN.

What this means is ,God has to give you a new heart, to have new affections towards God in order for you to believe in Him as your Lord and Saviour.

So... if you believe that He is your LORD and Saviour, you have been born of God (born again).

I assume that a certain amount of "Christians" started using it as a "catch phrase" to kinda separate themselves from just being called Christian in order to make a statement that MANY people that "Call" themselves Christians really are not, so they want to make a distinction, that's my guess.

The term born-again Christian just means that a person makes a conscious decision to be a believer of Jesus Christ. A born-again Christian also knows he/she has a personal relationship with God.

The word 'nominal' rather than 'regular' Christian usually refers to people who call themselves Christian because they happen to be born into a family that goes to church, not because they've decided to be Christians themselves. Just going to church doesn't make one a Christian - there's lots of people who go to church who aren't Christian, who may be interested but have not taken that step yet.

The only true Christian is a Born again Christian according to Jesus (John 3). Jesus defines a true Christian, not man.

If you have not been Born Again you are not going to heaven, check out what Jesus said in John 3:3. Being Born again is what gives you that personal relationship with Jesus Christ . Of course people who have the Holy Spirit in them are going to be different. They are being led by the Spirit, and not by the flesh, The Holy Spirit living inside them guides them. Its hard to be seperate from the world, when you see a Christian acting like the average person in the world think about this, I believe today we very few actual born again Christians in America, Christianity is growing in other parts of the world but not here, we have left our heritage behind, judgement will come, because when you know the truth and refuse todo it you are still responsible to God. If you have never been Born Again you can right now, just pray this sinners prayer believing with all your heart, ask Jesus to come into your heart and save you, just pray, Dear Jesus, I know and confess that I am sinner in need of salvation. I believe you died on a cross at calvery and arose from the grave to wash away my sins, I ask you right now to come into my heart and save me, I pray this Prayer believing in the name of Jesus Amen. If you prayed this prayer with a sincere heart you are now a child of God, rejoice that your name is written in the Lambs book of Life. Jesus will now send his Holy Spirit to come and live in your heart and guide you into all truth. If you have any questions just send me an email, God Bless YOU!!

Because if you are not born again you are not really a Christian. Being born again means you know you are a sinner, worthy of condemnation to hell and you know the only way to heaven is by accepting Christ's payment of your sins- accomplished through Christ's death and resurrection.

If you say you are a Christian and you haven't done this, you are religious, but you haven't trusted Christ- which makes you a non-Christian.

I know that some people use the term "born again" as a meaning "newly saved" One is not better than the other. If we serve him with all our hearts we are his children...new or old.
