they were both strays, so neither have been "fixed" yet. i am sitting in my bedroom right now watching to see what happens with the two of them... but my male cat is being anti-social. he got mad with her once for sniffing around his bottom... who wouldn't, eh? but, he didn't seem intent on really hurting her, just scaring her away. right now, he is hanging out under the bed. i want to introduce them, but i don't want hurt kitties on my hands. plus, i don't want either too get jealous or feel forgotten... specifically the male. anyone have experience or advice???

Keep them seperated when you can not be around to watch them then slowly introduce them to each other a little at a time. I would get the male fixed if you haven't

Keep them apart for some time while you are away. Bring them together at feeding time and give your old cat lots of love and affection. Let them play rough, they definitely will, but separate them if things look dangerous (if the small one is screaming or terrified and the other won't let go). Soon they will become pals, after they establish some kind of hierarchy. Once the kitten's size is not too small, and things don't look dangerous any more, you can leave them alone together.
Meanwhile, encourage them to play, by throwing balls and toys they both like at them.

I would take the kitty in my hands and put it by the older cat--let it hiss, sniff, growl--whatever, then take the kitten away. Do this several times throughout the day. Also, just let them interact as you are already doing. This cat is jealous, and needs time for adjustment. Do give extra time to the older cat to make him feel special, without the kitten present. You may need to put the kitten in a crate for a nap for example. It is just a time issue. Nothing you can do to speed up they time it will take for him to accept this new little intruder!

Get the male fixed, pronto!
Keep in seperate rooms, the little kitty in a room with litter box and necessaties. Male cat after being fixed can sniff under the door. To get used to it.

Just let them work it out themselves. They will get used to each other - probably within a day or two. You need to get them fixed though before you end up with more kitties than you know what to do with.
