ANY food that is not calorie negative (more calories to digest than it gives) can make you fat.

A calorie is a unit to measure energy. When considering food they are found in carbohydrates; sugar, starch and fiber, fats; all type, solids and oils and proteins, including ammino acids and vitamins. A banana has ALL of these. How many calories? I don't know, how big is the banana? Your body will either store or use a calorie. When its used right away it is fine, when you have to many it is stored. Body fat is your bodies' way to store extra calories.

Any time when you take in more calories than you are using, you can get fat. If you eat a banana or two a day, you are within healthy eating guidelines, assuming the rest of your diet is balanced. If you eat 500 bananas a day, you will have a serious weight issue.

You can gain or loose weight eating any food. However, eating heatlhy things such as bananas in reasonable propotions like 1-2 a day, is generally a better way to eat rather than eating chocolate and fried chicken every day.

Can a banana make you fat? Yes, but bananas are not often the culprit of peoples fat.

Yes, they can.

Bananas have, on average, about 100 calories.

Example: If your body needs 1500 calories to cover all of its basic needs and the energy requirements you have to meet your exercise pattern in one day, then you need to eat /drink 1500 calories in that day to meet your energy needs.

Add a banana and you have an extra 100 calories.

Your body stores energy by converting excess calories to fat, so the extra 100 calories from the banana could make you a little more hip.
