I'm curious, I know many religions try to answer this same question. But I would like to know some original personal opinions.

54:49. Verily, all things have We created in proportion and measure.

36:36. Glory to Allah, Who created in pairs all things that the earth produces, as well as their own (human) kind and (other) things of which they have no knowledge.

51:49. And of every thing We have created pairs: That ye may receive instruction.

6:38. There is not an animal (that lives) on the earth, nor a being that flies on its wings, but (forms part of) communities like you. Nothing have we omitted from the Book, and they (all) shall be gathered to their Lord in the end.

42:47. Hearken ye to your Lord, before there come a Day which there will be no putting back, because of (the Ordainment of) Allah. that Day there will be for you no place of refuge nor will there be for you any room for denial (of your sins)!

Well, life was meant to be a lot different than it is now. Man and woman were put here to enjoy perfect life forever on a paradise earth. That is still God's purpose for man and the earth. Very soon the wicked will no longer be here, and the earth will be transformed back into a perfect paradise, with perfect righteous people who will live for eternity on it.

Life is breathe in & breath out.That's what they give a definition for life in the Reikie class. I agree with it.

life is a biological process.....

our minds happen to have cognitions that make us ask such silly questions as this..rather than just living and enjoying it...

Life is a gift presented a god. This is the period to thanks allot to him, and help full to others. This is the period to earn good things for after death.

Life on earth is to prepare ourselves for what will come after death. if you accept Jesus Christ you will have eternal life and if you reject then you will spend eternity in the lake for fire
