Can YOU go to "heaven" knowing a loved one is in eternal torment? I've never understood that... don't you have to become callous to the "unsaved" loved ones' sufferings to truly be in "heaven"? How can you have complete bliss when your child or mom or whoever is burning in hell? Would that be hell for you? I don't get that.

(I'm not trying to be disrespectful... it just really baffles me.)

Good morning,

This is, frankly, the type of question that makes me wonder why the clergy would teach such cruelty on the part of our God. Hell, as a place of eternal torment, does not exist. It has no basis in scripture. It's been pointed out before, but here we go again. Job's suffering was legendary. In Job 13:13 he asks that God conceal him in Hell. Why would job ask to be relieved of suffering by being sent to a place of even greater torment? Also, the Apostle Paul said at Romans 6:7 that "he who has died has been ACQUITTED from his sins."

At Ecclesiastes 9:5,6 King Solomon tells us the true condition of the dead. "They are conscious of nothing at all."

I hope that helps you. :)

Yes, I have. Not a great feeling at all. But in a way it was really their choice to choose to believe or not. As much as I love them and would've want them to come to christ, Its their eternity, not mines.

I go to hell almost every day and I survive it. It's not so bad if you have the right attitude.
