There is a gorgeous secretary in one of the departments at the university where I'm a student (I'm in my early 20's and she must be mid 30's). How could I, atleast hypothetically, approach her? (Note, I dont think I will seriously try anything but it is a great fantasy)

Well you won't know until you ask her.
So I suggest that you be slightly forward with her and approach her and find out if she's involved with anyone. Then if she says yes...she'll likely ask you why. At that point you just tell her that you were interested in taking her out to dinner sometime, but now that you're aware she's taken, you won't persue her any longer.
If she says no...then ask her if she'd like to go get a Starbucks and chat or have dinner sometime, what the hell right?

If you want to get with her, then approach her, talk to her and flirt with her. Gage her interest in you. If she acts distant and not warm to your charm and flirtations, then break it off. There are various reasons why she might not see you as anything more than an acquaintance. Of course she might not be attracted to you. She could also be in a relationship or be married. She could definitely not be interested in casual sex with you. Lastly, she could also be afraid of potentially losing her job if she got with a student.

i wouldnt suggest stalking her but dont approach her in the office. Do it as she is walking out the building, going home for the day, or if you see her anywhere else on campus, eating maybe.
And just act as if she is any other female. Start witha friendly conversation, and progress from there.

why are so critical of her age , love and interst, age should not be concern
in such interst so much planning is waste of time and energy

well to be honest age is just a number, but to some to people it does matter. if you are really into this gal you should just introduce yourself.
