This sorta thing worries me. If it's determined that sexuality is determined by particular genes, and those genes are identifiable while a baby is developing, will the abortion of the child be considered okay in the eyes of people who's beliefs are against homo/bisexuality?

How about if genetic engineering comes into play? Would it be acceptable to alter your child's genes to prevent their sexuality straying from hetero?

jesussaves, would you please refrain from straying from the question with your hate speeches. I didn't even mention sodomy, you might want to look up the definition before you start spouting that sorta crap.

Oh ffs, anyone mentioning sodomy: By definition sodomy is any form of sexual activity that's not vaginal. If you perform foreplay or oral, you're sodomising. Sodom and Gommorah weren't populated solely by homosexuals ya know.

sodomy is a sin not a choice

calling it a choice makes the sinner feel better but they know they are wicked before God

what the world calls "gay" God in his word calls it sodomy

You have to presume that a homosexual child is somehow not a viable human being to make the abortion of that child acceptable. The only folks I know who would think that way are, curiously, against abortion. So you've posed a pretty quandary here. Hm.

Edit: I guess I should point out that the quandary is not really a quandary. You should love your child as much as you possibly can, whether or not he or she is gay.

it IS scary, isn't it? i really do believe that there are some things we're better off not knowing in advance. when i have kids, i don't even want to know their gender in advance, let alone their sexual preference.

and as far as genetic engineering goes, i think we should simply let things be what they are. if you have a gay child, be happy with a gay child, but don't try to ''rig up'' some kind of macho baby. i hold the opinion that this kind of thing potentially could, and almost definitely WOULD go terribly wrong. hundreds of sci-fi movies prove my point! LOL

Gay people are no more sinful than the rest of us. In my heart, abortion is never the 'right' thing to do, (though I don't judge others, or try not to.)

BTW- (for who ever is interested.) Sodom and Gomorrah were not destroyed because of their 'gayness', but because of their wickedness in ALL areas of their lives.

Blessings!!

Gay gene? I have never heard of this. If something like this was proven without question, it would definitely be all over the news. Even if there was a gay gene, I doubt that you would be able to tell if your kid had one early enough to have an abortion.

It is never acceptable to kill an unborn baby. We cannot make that decision.
Also, in my opinion, I do not think that homosexuality is in the genes. And they will never find a "gay" gene. It simply is not there.
Of course, a lot of people will disagree.
But,it is still never ok to kill an unborn baby.

Well I hope the parents would be sensible enough to love their child regardless but should that ever happen I would be very worried....

The irony of "Playing God" would also be astronomical.....

Now THAT would stretch the poor fundie's reasoning and justification ability.
They'd probably pull out that old 'abstinence' chestnut.
