I think it is.
Mind you, sometimes it's worth getting involved in... just to defend the character of someone who's being besmerched unjustly.
Good for you, by the way, for not being so afraid that you didn't confront the other person!

Well its not a good thing to get involved with gossip. (ever!) However, if someone is saying someting about you, you have every right to defend yourself.

She is not talking to you b/c you will not participat in gossiping. Good for you! Don't let her get to you, she's not worth it. She gets a kick out of talking about others.... how pitiful.
