I think to get the fairest response here you would need to evaluate a foot tattoo that has been exposed to the sun from wearing sandals for many years.

If you know you will keep it maintained - lots of sunblock CONTINUALLY and get it reworked from time to time, you will be likely happy with it.

Almost always, the worst foot tattoos that come into our studio to be reworked are those near the toes and are black/gray - especially if small - they look like you got some sort of dirt on your foot.

The colored ones on the foot itself, especially from the ankle areas seem to look better.

My only tattoo is on my foot. I got it this week so of course I don't regret it. I am pretty sure I never will, as it is something I thought about for over a year (well the exact design and placement). if it is something special to you then it will be worth is, not tattoo no matter how easy or painful it is, is "worth it" if it isnt important to you. Being my first tattoo I can't compare it to other spots on my body, but I can say it really didn't hurt much at all. It stung a little when she added color and shaded, but to me it was all well worth the finished product!

I have a friend that has one and regrets it, but I don't think everybody would.
I went to get a little lizard on my foot and backed out and got something touched up instead. My reason for backing out was that they had to put it on the top of my foot and I wanted it on my side-ish. The artist told me that if I put it where I wanted it, it would fade quickly.
In general, foot tatts are going to fade from socks and sun.
I am not saying don't do it - they are hot. Just know more about it before you jump in.

Some people i know say its painful but I love my tattooed feet! It didn't hurt me and I think they look fab. Love buying different shoes to show them off. People find them interesting and I get a few double takes ('are they real?' 'did they hurt?'). Just make sure you think carefully about what you put on them though. Make it something you'll love forever (same goes with all tatts!) My boyfriend used to be a tattooist and he let people practice on his feet cos he didn't think people would really see them. Thinkhe regrets it now though, he's been going over them. tattooed feet look cool!!!

I think a tattoo on the foot is sexy. Trouble is depending upon the person's skin, they tend to fade quickly. That is from wearing socks and shoes. I would definitely start with something small to see how well it lasts.

I'm going to be getting my foot done this weekend - I've heard it hurts pretty bad - but most people find that they like it.

Just make sure you have a few days where you won't have to have shoes on very often.

I actually like mine. It took some getting used to and the pain was almost unbearable.
Many times when I took a step barefooted I got spooked seeing it out of the "corner" of my eye.

I have both done and it was totally worth it! It was pretty painful, but I have beautiful flowers on each foot and they look fantastic.

I have both done and I wouldn't say it was too painful. I love mine so any pain was completely worth it.
