Exactly. If he was God and was always God then there could be no cup to be removed.
I have always thought that if you could follow Christian logic you should be committed.
The whole man-god on a stick thing falls apart except as allegory for the lunar to solar calendar conversion.
It should be of interest that the only time the Christians were cohesive with one doctrine was from 314 until 1450 while the Catholics enforced their dogma through terror and kept the bible a great secret.
When Gutenberg made the bible widely available in 1450 Christianity fragmented, because unable to reconcile the conflicts and outright irrationality of the Bible different groups selected which of the mess to believe and what to reject.
So we have it as it is today. Trinitarians. Unitarians, by faith, by works, Baptists, Methodists, Calvinists, Wesleyans....
OH what a great mess, and all "True Believers."

That's why Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice. God loves us so much that he gave a part of himself (Jesus Christ) and had to watch what people did to Jesus. Can you imagine watching your son go through that? Even though you new you had the power to bring him back to you, you would still have to see it through so that the world and it's people could be forgiven for their sins. I would say that his love is so much that we could never really offer anything to him to match that love. Jesus is now seated at the right hand side of God. He wants to see us believe that he will prepare our place in Heaven and return for us. What other proof do you need to prove that he loves us and will return to retrieve the people who believe in him. GOD BLESS!!

I came to grips with that question by thinking of it all as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They are separate beings but their thoughts are exactly the same. They were all present from the beginning of time.

Jesus is no God. He is His Son.
The word says that He WAS with God and he was God. (the same way my son was a part of me before he was born.)
But Jesus isn't God. For those who would argue, look at the wording, it says WAS not IS.
God Bless!

Jesus is 100% GOD and 100% man, he poured himself out to take on sin. It shows us an example of what it is like to be separate from God, Jesus is an example of how we should try to live.
He didn't seperate from God, but became human to shed his blood for us .

If Jesus were God, how could God separate from God?
Jesus is not God; he's God's only-begotten Son. (John 3:17)
Jesus NEVER came out and said: "I am God." But he did openly acknowledge that he was God's Son. (John 10:36)

When God commited suicide for you to save you from your horrible sinful devilish self He was able to love you unconditionally. Before that He just had to torture you for eternity with fire. I think the screems started gettin' to His head or something.

Jesus is God's body. People's souls can live without a body in Heaven. God didn't suffer at all.
