Call you vet. Before you officially leave, he can give your cat a shot that makes them sleep. They do that a lot for cats and dogs on airplanes.

Ask your vet--if you do not want to medicate the cat, crate them--at least the throw up will be in a contained place and you can stop and clean up the mess. Take clean up materials with you. Also, I would not feed the cat for about 12 hours prior to the trip. I had a cat that also got car sick. It was gross!!! Poor kitty--I get car sick too and know how awful it feels.

One of my cats got carsick, too, and it took about 20 minutes in the car before he'd be sick. We took away his food and water for a couple of hours before we left and then he didn't get sick. He wasn't happy about that and he still didn't like to ride in the car. We got a bigger carrier so he could have a small potty box and a bed in it and he seemed happier. Smaller places are more comfortable to cats.

If it's a short ride, just tough it out. If it's a longer one, like to a different city or state, go see your vet and they can prescribe a sedative for your kitty.

Don't give him any food or water for a few hours before you leave.
