I was talking to my girlfriend on my cell phone last night..we are both in our mid-20s. Before we hung up she says that she needs me. What does this mean? This is the first time she has said this. It would be great if someone will shine some light onto this. I should have asked her what she meant.

Next time you talk to her, ask her. It could mean that she misses you and wants to be near you. She may never want to be to far away from you. She may physically "need" you. It could be an emotional need. Just tell her next time you talk to her that you were thinking about what she said and you want to know what she meant exactly. No one can read minds, even our soul mates.

Well, for starters, yes you should have asked her. And make it a point to ask her as soon as you talk to her again. That shows her that for One you were listening to her, ( most men don't get the concept of listening, there is a differance between listening and hearing) for Two you care about what happens to her and how she feels.

Let her know that it has been bothering you all night and you were worried about her, but you were not sure if you should call her back or what, you just didn't know what to do, but you were worried. Let her know that she can talk to you about anything at any time and that you will always be there for her, regardless. I promise... she will melt like butter.. (you will be in good standings with her for awhile if you tell her this) and mean it, and i think that you do, otherwise you would not be on here worrying about it. I think she is very lucky to have a guy like you.

Unless she meant that in some sexual way, if so.. well, darn she is still lucky!..

haha.. have a wonderful day.. Good Luck!

No you shouldn't have asked what she meant. She means she loves you a lot. She feels that she needs you in an emotional, not literal way. Be there to love her and talk to her, hold her, etc. She adores you, you comfort her, you make her feel happy. Relax, it doesn't mean she would die without you. She probably feels very strongly about you and maybe saying "I love you" didn't feel like enough. Or maybe you haven't said it yet and that was a substitute for her for now. Either way, she loves you. That's all. Nothing more.

such a statement has many meanings in the kind of world we live in today...

the best thing to do is to ask what she meant by that statement and you can talk it out from there... it is best to be clear in a relationship coz wrong perceptions or misunderstandings lead to difficulties in a relationship which sometimes create alot of strain on the couple.

just ask her what she meant and start from there... good luck!!!

It is the female way of being clingy to a guy, to get his attention by saying we need him. A guy always wants to be of help and come to the rescue of the less fortunate ones so he always falls for it. She is trying to trap you. Decide if you want to be in this relationship for good or not.

Maybe she needs more attention from you because you are always busy at work. Or she might felt neglected all the time because by the time you are with her you mind is up with something else.

tought one, I think it can mean:
1)I think I love you but am unsure so I need to keep you around.
2)maybe she knows she loves you but doesn't want to sound desperate or overly attached since that scares people away.
3) If your relationship is physical then you just may be one of the only men who can satify her physical needs.

in my experience (and this may not be the case with your girl) but "need" would be able to be translated into "love"

as well as "miss you"... but, i could be wrong... wouldn't be the first time.

either that or she wants to get you into the bedroom.

you won't know what she meant until you ask her though.

Did she just up and say 'I need you" out of no where? How was her tone? Sexy? She might have meant sex. Or she needs you in her life...
