tell me would you decide to be kicked out of your home, to have your parents dislike you and disown you because of who you desire,
would you choose to be ridiculed by people who dont know what your about.
and even after this has happened, would you not choose to go back the the "acceptable" option, face torment by those who choose to hate you.

so what makes you think that a gay guy chose it, what makes you think that someone, who was discriminated agasint, wouldnt just change their minds again.

Do you really think being gay is a choice?

The Lord Himself says that he didn't make you that way but you made a consciences choice. He even goes on further to say that let no man say when he is tempted, he is tempted by God; James Ch.1 v13-15 totally blows away anyone's claim that "they were born that way" Don't ever try and blame the Lord for your own poor choices as it won't hold up when you stand before Him in judgment; Yes, judgment. All men are accountable to God and will be required to give an account of themselves on that day so your effort to try and convince Him that you were made that way will not be acceptable. I strongly suggest you read the above scripture and then seek some sort of help.

Who the hell would choose to be tormented, isolated, persecuted and rejected?
Christians are fearful of what they don't understand, and they obviously don't understand a lot, as they live their whole lives in fear.
Just remember Jesus was 33, never married and hung out with 12 other like minded guys. Hmm!

Absolutely not! Some people claim that homosexuality is a disease that is curable by intense treatment in rehab facilities. The failure rate among which is extremely high. No one is going to change their minds about their beliefs about homosexuality simply from a post on Y/A, but as long as you accept yourself for who you are and find people to surround yourself with that support you, you don't have anything to worry about.

I look at it this way:

When you are overweight, you want to be thin so that you aren't ridiculed for your weight. You want to be liked by those around you and seen for what you are inside instead of judged by your pudge. You want to be accepted and loved and be able to get attention by those whom you want to befriend and be able to be confident in those situations. The fact is, there are very few people who will accept anyone just for who they are, but people tend to accept those that are most like themselves.

Now, despite being fat - I'm still reaching for that little debbie, gorging myself on a coke, and grabbing seconds on the fried chicken. The choice to remain fat and act on my desires is mine - THUS my ultimate choice is to remain something because it's easier to be that way than to really turn my life around -eat right, excercise and be thin.
I see this as the same thing as being gay. You can feel gay as in you are attracted to members of the opposite sex, but ultimately it is the everyday choices you make that will keep you that way. I would bet it is just as hard to deny homosexual feelings as it is to lose weight when you are in deep, but some have done it.

Christy must Not only not like gays but heavy people too. and I think it's not by choice but genetic because when your gay you think that way as soon as you reach puberty. And most think that way as a child . And no one would choose to be ridiculed thier whole life. And it's ok to be gay or fat its called freedom . Its compasion that people lack that I worry about. It always seems to me the one that hollers the most usually has something to hide.

Yes. How can we explain that there are many that had lived that lifestyle for years and reverted back to being straight after meeting Jesus Christ? We can be ridiculed for any type of behavior, alcoholism, drugs, thievery, why would being gay be any different?

It sucks that ppl are so narrow minded & bigoted.

Society is improving, ppl don't have to hide their sexuality so much anymore. I guess it's the family that's the hardest part.
It's kinda like when you tell ppl your an Atheist, parents are the hardest.

So you have a choice: be a victim or take responsibility for what you chose to do - there is always a choice.

So you obviously contend that homosexuals have no ability to control their own actions and they are simply animals, with no self discipline at all?

If that's the case, then it's not suprising that ordinary people find their actions and their lifestyle repulsive and immoral.
