Want cheap beer? Go steal it, nah I'm just kidding.
Bud Light is pretty cheap.
As for wine, I use that in classic dishes for food.

Natural Light is pretty cheap, same with Busch Light. I will spend money for better beer, because it tastes better and does not leave as much of a hang over. My favorites are currently Bass, Fat Tire, Harp, and Allagash if I want to go Belgium.
Wine is something that needs to me weaned. It is in its most basic form grapes, yeast, and sugar. Things can be added and taken away to create different flavors, and styles. Different wines come from different kinds of grapes and fruits. Most non-wine drinkers think that it is going to be sweet, which is not the case for many wines.
Personally I like the taste, and the complexity, but I don't need it to be sweet or watered down. If you don't like wine, don't drink it. If you would like to learn, start with a cheap mass produced wine and work you way up. Also, go to wine tastings and tell them what you are looking for, they can help you find something that you will like.

Budweiser is probably the cheapest beer, but it is nasty stuff. As for wines, they are an acquired taste. I prefer red wines, but for someone who is not a wine drinker and would like to explore the wine tasting world, I would start out with a sweet white wine. Best of luck!

Most affordable beer is Pabst Blue Ribbon ($5.50 per 12 pack). Some poeple will tell you that it tastes bad or will tear you up in the morning but that is all false. It's wonderful. As for wine: Try Boones Farm. It tastes great!

not answering your question i know... but it honestly depends on what part of the country you are in... in Louisiana Killian's Red is about $6 a 6 pack... in Oregon it's $4 and some change.
