Is it considered rape if a 16 year old girl has sex with a twenty-four year old but she did not fight back or say she did not want to have sex? If it is rape is it considered wrong just because the law says it is or is it overall just wrong and why?

It's considered rape for any adult to have sex with a minor.
It's considered wrong because of the law and how we were raised. In some countries, it's fine. But in the US, it's wrong.

I find it pretty disgusting, because usually a 16 yr. old girl is still at the age where she's easily influenced by others and falls in love easily. A 24 yr old guy should know this and is probably using it to his advantage.

If there was consent, we enter into a realm known as statutory rape. This is when an adult over 18 has a sexual incounter with a minor. The minor can say that they wanted to participate in the encounter, however, the state does not give them the right to choose.
The answer lies in the law of your state. I think PA is 14. However, I think that even if the age of consent is reached, that there are some other factors/implications that can be considered if the age difference is large.
There is no good reason for a 16 year old girl to have sex with a 24 year old guy. If that were my daughter (who will turn 16 next year) the issue wouldnt be rape, it'd be assault with a deadly weapon as I would make sure that guy never parked his pecker in another teenage girl.

I think it varies from state to state. In some states, that would be considered statutory rape; in others, 16 is the legal age for a person to give consent for sex.

Is it wrong? I guess I have to say that anything that's illegal is wrong just because it is illegal. However, I can kind of see both sides of the coin here. I think there's a huge difference between consensual statutory rape (sounds odd, but essentially true) and the type of rape where a person is physically forced into a sexual act. Sixteen and 24 is a big difference, and most people (including myself) find that objectionable. But, if we're talking about 16 and 18...different story in my book. But the law views it the same (in most places, I think).

I can also see that up until a certain age, a person just doesn't have the maturity to truly consent to sex. I understand that the law is there to protect minors. I don't think it works in most cases, but the idea is right.

If she is legal by the laws of whatever state she is in then it would not be rape but if the law states that she was not old enough to consent to sex then it would be called raped even if she said yes.
I don't think a 24 year old should be having sex with a 16 year old.

Depending on where you live and the age of consent, yes it could be considered Statutory Rape.

Morally wrong? I think so. If the 24 year old really wanted to be with the 16 year old, he would wait until she was an adult and then there would be no questions on the legality of them having sex.

it all depends on which country you live in. I am in australia and if a 16 year old was to sleep with a 24 year old there is nothing that can be done unless it wasn't conscentual. But if she is not legal to have sex then her parents can report him to the police for statutory rape just because she is not old enough to have sex by the law.

Depends on the age of consent where she is.

If she consented and the law of consent is 16 or younger then it is not rape.

If she consented and the law of consent is 17 or older then it is statutory rape.

If she didn't consent, but didn't fight, then it's still rape, in most jurisdictions. However sometimes there would have to be some evidence that she didn't consent.

There is no such thing as having consensual sex with a child and it not being rape. Because thats what a 16 year old is - a child. It not only wrong because the law sayes so but because it is MORALLY wrong. why would any right minded 24 year old want to have sex with a child? dont tell me she is a very mature 16 year old. no. it dosent work like that. she is 16 years old. peroid. if they have affection for one another then they keep it as friends or dating with NO SEX until she is 18. if it dosent last that long without sex then guess what, it was all a lie to start with.

16 is the age of consent. If the 16 year old wanted to have sex then it wasn't rape but if she didn't want to have sex then it was rape. Hope this helps.

if she didnt stop him then it is not rape....it is however illegal to have sex w/ a minor, no matter what gender you are.......that's an 8 year age difference and in my opinion the 24 year old knows better not to touch a 16 year old b/c he knows how much trouble he can get into......
