it depends on the specific people in question. And just to let you know, everything I'm about to say is coming from experience being a Christian and then later an Atheist.
I know atheists that have NO concept of the bible. They just spout crud off like they know what's what.
Then again, I know Christians that think they're the shizz just because they go to church every Sunday.
In both cases, I can tell them things about the bible (or Christianity) that they didn't know. Or that they didn't care to learn. Or that they were too ignorant to care about. I can switch between defense and offense at the drop of a hat.
Then again, there are some atheists that know so much about the history of the bible, have read it, and some were once Christian themselves. These are the people that let Christians be in their religion and spirituality.
As for the Christians I know and respect: they're the ones that read the bible and realize that it's NOT the most important thing in the world to everyone. They realize that what's more important is NOT being able to quote the bible, but to live with a close spiritual connection to God (or whatever deity people choose to have). They also realize that people who choose to NOT believe in any higher power are not any less human for it.

The bible these days are missing things to be truly accurate.
Starters, Adam had a wife before Eve and was his equal. Lilith who gets cast out due to her dominant self. Lilith and Adam were made as equals. Eve wasn't, There are also 2 bibles, Hebrew which is more accurate and older than the Christian bible, which is made up by some but not all of the Hebrew Bible. One has too look at ones own religion before trying to bait any others.
Blind faith is like, lemmings being herded by a pack of hungry wolves.

No I don't agree that atheists in general have more head knowledge then Christians about the Bible. But I do agree that there are some who do know the contents of the Bible as well as some of us Christians. But I do agree that because of faith, we do possess a more accurate understanding of Gods word.

I wouldn't say that atheists have any more or less Biblical knowledge in general than Christians. Some Atheists know it word for word and use it to cite places they perceive to be inconsistant, while there are some that have never even picked one up. I've heard of some Atheists who reach adulthood without even knowing who Jesus was.
I do agree with the second claim for the most part, you can read the Bible all you want, but it's important to keep an open mind and try to keep your heart receptive to the lesson that is trying to be conveyed to you. If you're reading it because you want to argue against its content, such an experience is highly unlikely.

Disagree. I think "faith" is the perfect Christian excuse to read the Bible with a complete lack of objectivity. Most Christians aren't converted by the Bible; they're converted by SOMEONE. After the fact, they dive into the Bible already "knowing" it is "true."

I have no knowledge of the bible. To me Christianity is a way for the people in power to keep control of the uneducated and poor... Same thing as the Falun Gong or other cult's. So for you to say that Christians have more wisdom... I would disagree. And for you to say that Atheists have knowledge of the bible. I would also disagree as I have no interest in it.

disagree...
more faith does not necessarily mean more wisdom..
maybe Christians do have a greater overall understanding of the Bible - but most interpret it in whatever way it suits them

Well having wisdom and accurate understanding of something doesn't necessarily means it's a true story.....I could have accurate understanding of the movie Halloween, but it doesn't mean it really happened.
