The police will tell you - a file is never deleted! You lose the address of the file, not the file itself
Been there, got the T-shirt.

Have you tried sys recovery?

If I am teaching granny to suck eggs, then please bear with me.

Start/Progs/Accs/System Tools/Sys restore.
Go back to a date when you last had the file.

Keep back-tracking until you find the file.

If that doesn't work, then you can put your drive into a specialist company - but that will cost you really big bucks!

It's a sh.t when you lose an important file, so I hope the above works.

Good luck!

depends how it was deleted --- what the file is ---- where is your backup ---- check the web if it is a device file you may be able to get a copy from the manufacturer --- if its a user created file check your recycle bin unless you have emptied it the file will still be there ---- if not and you have not done much work im sure you will find some undelete files on the net and can (maybe/possibly) retrieve the file ---- best wishes

it depends on how you lost it. and if you search the net theyre is a coulple of programs like simple shred that let you truly erase everything. if you check in there it should still be on your harddrive and it will give you the option to restore.
