I found out I was pregnant with my second son just before Father's Day. So on the day I gave my husband 3 cards: One from me, one from our first son, and one that said something like, "I've been watching and see what a great daddy you are, so I picked you to be MY daddy. Can't wait to meet you in February." He was crying before he finished reading it.

With the first one, I took him for a walk and told him I have something he'll be needing. Then I reached in my pocket and pulled out a baby bootie.

If I'd have thought about, I'd have done a card from the baby for the first one, too.

Go to Wal-Mart or any store that has a baby section. Get one pink and one blue pacifier - for a possible boy or a girl.

Buy him a gift - a you're going to be a daddy gift. Like a male chain necklace for example.
Thread the pacifiers onto the chain and hang it around the rear-view mirror of his car. Next time he gets into his car, it might take him a few moments to understand but it's quite exciting.

If he doesn't have a car, then hang the necklace around the doornob so he'll have to see it before he heads out for the day.

Put a pair of baby booties in his sock drawer. Replace his razor with a baby rattle. Put a baby bib on the table where he sits to read the newpaper. Put a baby towel on his towel rack. Go on with your day as though it weren't any different. Wait and enjoy the light go on in his head.
Or,
wait until the two of you are out shopping together and say, that you need his help picking out a piece of furniture. That it's too heavy for you now. Take him to where the cribs are displayed. He'll get the hint real quick.

Tell him you have some strange cravings for pickles and icecream.

Tell him you found a little blue stick in the bathroom that told you to add.

Show him a box of tampons that haven't been opened for a few months.

Wear shirts a few sizes too large.

Get your ultra-sound. Enlarge it to an 8 by 10. Then tell him that it's one of those 3-D images that you'd have to relax your gaze to see the image. See how long it takes for him to realize that it's an ultra-sound image.... Surprise!

Get him to sit in front of you ... put his hand on your tummy and breath in and out heavily as if you were having a labor pain right then.

See his looks then confused but all happy. I used that and will always remember that ... because it is important to see the 1st reaction on the face rather than the location or anything like that.

Good luck.

this is how i told my hubby,

i got a box, wrapped it up,

put tons of packing peanuts in it,

and told him i bought him something that he'd love that day,

he opened it,

and inside was a baby bottle with a note inside saying "WERE PREGNANT!"

A friend of mine got pregnant right before her husband's birthday, so she took the positive pregnancy test, put it inside of one of those long thin watch cases, wrapped it up and gave it to him for his bday. When he unwrapped it he thought he was getting a new watch but she said the look on his face when he opened up the box and saw a pregnancy test instead was priceless. Depends on if you think it's icky to hang onto a pregnancy test or not though.

Take him to a home decoration store (like wal-mart, sears, pottery barn kids) & just say "Honey we need to get this for the baby's room)

That would depend on your mans sence of humor. When my ex got pregnant the first time, i walked in the door to our place and our roommate (my brother) and her were in the living room. She was cring histaricly and his mouth was wide open. I asked what was wrong she said Im pregnant and keep cring. I was thrilled but she looked upset so I tried not to look happy. I still laugh at that even now. Play a huge joke on him like its not his or something.lol Good luck

Get a baby shirt or bib that says "I love my Daddy", wrap it up and surprise him with the gift!
