I really can't stand it when someone says something like "I prayed to find a job and god gave me one!"

It sounds more like "God decided that my request for a stupid job was more important than a starving person's prayer for food, or a dying person's prayer for an extra day, or a little girl's prayer that she stops being beaten by her dad."

I think its just silly that they fail to mention that they prayed for a job as well as went out looking for one. Its not like they prayed and someone just called them out of nowhere and said, "Would you like to work for me?"

When we pray with an honest heart we bring about our own future and we can't really take credit for that gifted ability,so why not give credit where credit is due.

totally agreed . I just substitute the word luck for the god they think of ,or dumb luck as the case may be .the humility is sometimes charming but the ramifications are not.

We are talking about people that believe in a god that was once pleased with animal blood sacrifices and then needed the blood of Christ to wash sins......what more can you say....don't ask them to make sense.
