Errrm...it's the "old-style" Hebrew that was used to write the Torah and Gemara/Talmud and other holy Jewish scriptures. Otherwise known as the written language of Aramaic =)

It's Aramaic, which is what the people of Israel spoke later on in the Old Testament. It's sort of a dialect of Hebrew. (Not quite, but sort of.) It was the language that the people commonly spoke in Israel.

When I say it out loud it sounds like Hebrew to me, but I'm not sure. I'd need to see the original characters, rather than the western ones.

It is Hebrew language,it means Oh my LORD why are you forsaken me.This word is came out from Jesus(pbuh) mouth when the Jews crucified him.

Aramic .. it's a Semitic language belonging to the same family of Arabic and Hebrew.
