Some are and some are not. It is the choice of the individual believer who is practising buddhism.

In the buddhist faith, a belief in a deity is not necessary. Pondering a deity's possible existence does nothing to further one's own progress and karma. So the question is rather moot.

But some buddhist's have been influenced by other faith's, and have incorporated a worship of a creator/god like figure. But if you read the words and wisdom of Siddartha Gautama, you would understand that this is not a belief that is required to practice buddhism.

Atheism isn't a requirement for being a Buddhist. It's a choice.

Most Buddhists are atheists. Most Satanists are also atheists. Neither believes in or worships deities.
