I'm not positive about this but I think you can give your child any name you want, you just need to be honest on the other facts on the birth certificate so there will not be any repercussions when the child is older. I'm gutsy, I would put exactly what I wanted to on that birth record and then dare them to do anything about it. But I hope you and the father are good friends at least, your child needs that. No. The mother can give the baby the father, mothers or any other last nam e she chooses to put on the birth certificate.
