I do not feel we will see motors blowing consistently like they have with Jr. Sure, and occasional motor is a possibility. From some of the things I have read, I feel that DEI is experimenting and using Jr. as the "rat" so to speak. Putting motors in his car to see how they stand up, and what changes they can make. DEI doesn't lose much this way, because Jr. is not in the chase, and is leaving anyway. Because of Jr., and everything he has gone through this year, it is a possibility that we could see DEI with some of the strongest motors next year. Could be that they have taken all these blown motors apart and learned everything they can from them. But, who knows, shoddy management, and maybe they won't learn a thing, and everything Jr. has gone through this year will be for naught.

As to Mark Martin lowering himself--At this stage of his career he just wants to drive part time and DEI fit the bill for him with sharing the 8 car with Aric Amorola. If he still wanted a full time ride he would be with Rousch to this day!!! I dont think he factored in the engine problems with DEI into his decision. But I believe it is a good chance he will blow up an engine next year.!!!!!

...I hope DEI has their engine problems worked out by then. Having a veteran like Mark Martin behind the wheel is good for DEI. It allows them to compare his driving skills that he has accumulated though out the years using their equipment.
...If they still can't be competitive then maybe Teresa and Dale Jr can lighten up on each other and get to the real root of their personal and business problems.
...The blown engines could magically stop anytime as soon as they find the problems and correct engine package.

With DEI and RCR getting their engines from the same department/builders, maybe they can work out the engineering problems by next year.
I believe that engine and parts stamina is a part of racing in every series, NASCAR, Indy, and F-1 all included, so, to be competitive, somebody in the engine department has to step up.

I think DEI and RCR will get this together in the off season, get to the bottom of this engine problem crap, cause if they don't I feel so bad for Mark...If this crap keeps up look for Truax Jr to get the "h" out of DEI.. It would be wild to see all the engine problems end once Jr is at HMS...going to be a interesting 2008 season..

I don't think Mark will clutch the engines, and destroy them, like Jr. may be right now. Mark's doing this maybe as a favor to Dale Sr. Mark's somebody you can trust, and Dale Sr. knew that. their may have been an agreement made between the two,if things started going bad. Never know??
