the fan often continues to run after the car is turned off to cool the hot engine - it may be that the fan it knocking against something or the fan motor berring may be going bad.

Give that lil Nissan a tune up. Sounds to me like your say it's dieseling. You may want to try a higher octane fuel especially if your not stock.

Expansion and contraction of the metal in the exhaust. Klinking poping tapping is normal in newer cars as the exhaust gets old and rusty it will stop making the noise.

If its the crackling sound you hear, it's common in most vehicles but not all. All it is is the heat from the motor and the exhaust making a crackling sound usually in your exhaust thats why it has a kind of tin sound is because of your exhaust pipe is the kind of metal that makes that sound

Check your owners manual; if recommended gas is premium use it.
Sounds like your car is dieseling from a lower octane gas than it should use.
