No. In fact, do you know what that tradition come from?? It came from marriages where men and women did not meet before marriage. Men and a woman's father would make some sort of business deal and the father would give his daughter away in marriage as part of the arrangement. If the man who was to marry the girl, saw the dress or the bride prior to the wedding, he may find her ugly and decide to go back on the deal. This is the bad luck. This is also why it is usually the bride or the brides family to keep the tradition going. Unless you think your husband is going to be disgusted with the sight of you, there is no need to hide the dress or yourself.

Hi Amanda:

No....you are already MARRIED! What would be the difference? Pick out a dress in a nice color and go with it. Remember it's not a "second wedding" and if you are having a party after, it's not a wedding reception, but an anniversary party. Have fun!

No...many brides wear the same dress for the renewal of vows that they wore for the original wedding day. Congratulations!

probably, I can't see why the tradition would change. renewing the vows are the same as getting married. It's like getting married all over again. Have fun!

No it doesn't matter at all. Just pick a pretty dress in a colour flattering to you. It's not like it's 'another wedding'!!!!! It's just a blessing or ceremony, then an anniversary party.

Don't worry about it if he does. It never really matters. If him seeing you in a dress is going to make your marriage fall apart then that says something about the marriage not the fact that he saw you in the dress beforehand.

No, so if he gets a glimpse of it, you don't have to take it back -- but do try to keep him from seeing you IN it. It's not the dress that'll mean much to him, it's his first sight of you in the dress. Good luck!

Nope, you've already done it the first time and guess what? It must have been bad luck you're on your second try...

Bad luck is what you make of it. I don't believe in it.

If YOU want him to see it, then go for it.

If not, then don't let him see you in it.
