I used to weigh 240 pounds when i was 16 and now, four years later i am 150 and fitter than ever. Im a guy and am almost 6 feet btw.
First and foremost, understand that it will take atleast four years for you to get that model look you always wanted. So take it slow. But dont put away your healthy eating for another day... utilize each and every day. Dont feel bad if you cheated say once in a week but not more than that. Excercise moderately now...and when you get fitter you can do high intensity workouts. But dont push yourself too much. As someone stated earlier, eat smaller portions and develop a healthy craving for fruits and water!
Good luck.... i wish you all the best.

Eat smaller portions of the foods that are hard to give up, like pizza (one little slice, eat slowly and enjoy), spaghetti, etc. Then try to fill up the difference with fruits and veggies. Keep trying different ones until you find something you like. Start walking. If you can only go 1/2 a mile at first, do it. Then work up to more, but do it every day. Don't say "I'll try", ay "I'll do it". Give yourself a reward when you meet a goal -- a pair of earrings or new shoes!
I also know many people who succeed using weight watchers. The meetings really help some people get motivated and the program helps you learn how much you can eat of different things. You can also do it online if you don't have weight watchers near home.
Good luck. Do it for yourself and get healthy. You'll love yourself for doing it!

if you want to do it right and keep it off you can't do it fast
change your eating habits, smaller portions of healthy foods and increase the level of physical activity, this is the hardest part, you have to start slow like walking or riding a bike to help improve your cardio then moving up to more strenuous activity as your body adjusts
cut out all carbonated drinks and caffine limit yourself to strictly water and juice and the weight will start coming off and as you progress you will be teaching yourself a healthier lifestyle which will help keep it off

go vegetarian. Cut out meat and also stop eating fried foods. Going vegan is better. Sounds extreme but it works. I have friends who lost a lot of weight when they became vegetarians.

its very possible. check out some online diet plans. read "eating healthy" books and articles. find new healthy cooking cookbooks. maybe join some online diet groups. go to the gym, a couple times a week. there's so many ways to go about it. you just need to learn what you eat, how to do it in varieties so you dont get sick of it, and work out.

No problemo!
You have to cut of on: fast foods, sugar, (any types of sweets).
You have to exercise. go to the gym at least once a week for about 10 months and you are gonna see HUGE results, but remember, drink TONS of water!
