Police officers are needed in our society everyday. They are very important authorities to everyone. Many people don’t always give officers the respect they deserve. If we didn’t have police officers our society would be very dangerous, even more than it already is. Sometimes though, police take advantage of their authority and gets ideas that they are above the law.
Without police officers there would no order in society whatsoever. There would be crime going unpunished on a daily basis. If people didn’t think here was punishment for their actions they would probably run up and down the streets shooting everyone they passed by. “A police officers job is one of the most important in every community: to keep streets safe and protect citizens from harm”

Police officers don’t always get the respect they deserve. They may not be above others but they do have the rights of their authority. Many people probably don’t give them the respect they deserve. Police officers are supposed to be protecting us. They put their lives on the line every time they show up for work. They have no idea what they will face in their shift. They don't know if they will make it home that night.
Police officers are very important but sometimes they may take advantage of their authority. That is not right, people depend on them to keep us safe but if they are willing to be good for nothing hypocrites people cant depend on that trust. For an example a police officer could go out and molest someone rather than, protecting them, which is what they are supposed to do. They are put in a very trusting work force and they should be expected to live by what they are enforcing rather than be hypocritical and go and break the law themselves.

Police put their lives on the line for us everyday. They are very important authority figures in our society. They deserve to have our complete respect if they are willing to work to their full potential instead of thinking they are above the law.

A paper should state a feeling, belief or thesis at the beginning. It should be clear to the reader what your point is, and you should come back to that point. A good topic to write about would be the origins of modern police work. You can state (thesis) "modern police work is much the way Sir Robert Peel invisioned it back in 1822." Then go on and give a few examples of what he implemented back then and what police do today. Then finish by restating your thesis, "that modern police work is the same as back in 1822" Don't forget to do correct citations from whatever books you use!
