meet him at the door in bubble wrap, or syran wrap!
He's been gone awhile.
How about an intimate dinner, bubble bath for 2,candlelight( get my drift?) No party, keep him for yourself, he can go visiting when you go to work:)

Take him to a football game. Go to a movie that he likes. Cook him a dinner. Dress in something that he likes. Get a small party for him with friends he hasn't seen in awhile. Give him back the normalcy he hasn't had. And let him rest if he's tired.

The percentage of the population of the US serving in Iraq is very small. I don't believe this would be an issue.

Believe it or not, just give him lots of hugs and hold him and have all his loved ones around him. Missing everyone has been hard on our soldiers. Homecooked meals and hugs and being with family and friends is the best thing to give.

There are two sides to every story...the public, admiration society side for when he arrives; and the quiet, have-you-all-to-himself side for when the crowds go away. Don't try and organize it from afar, do it personally; but don't take him out dancing and to noisy places to celebrate his return privately!
