Advantage and Frontline can be used on even very tiny -- days old -- kittens, but you will have to have a vet calculatet the dose based on their weight and size. Often it is only one drop per kitten.

Those two flea remedies are safe for kittens because they stay on the surface of the skin and do not get into their systems. However, you will have to prevent the mother cat from licking it off them (as she will want to do) for several hours.

Get advice and the Advantage from a vet. Don't use a flea bath on them. Flea baths only drown a few fleas anyway, and it's very easy for kittens to get chilled.

From 8 weeks of age.

Animals often need flea treatment before this age. Frontline spray can be used from 2 DAYS of age, so if your kittens has fleas, go to a vet for some of this.

depending on which brand you are actually going to be using, you can use flea preventative as young as 3 weeks (this is for Capstar ONLY, Capstar will kill all presence of fleas within 8 hours of being orally administered, but cat will become suceptable to fleas durning the very next exposure) Advatage and AdvantagePlus can be given as young as 9-11 weeks of age and SHOULD be given on a monthly basis as they also prevent worms and parasites that could be detremental to you kitten's growth and development.

Hope I have helped.

The label says 8 weeks and older. I only use it when I notice that my cat has fleas, not every month as they say. It is too toxic and my cat hates it. Fortunately my cat is an indoor pet and hasn't had any for over a year.
