1. I live in the New York City area.Where in the New York/New Jersey area is the best place to get bodypaints and what do you recommend? Or, are there mail order companies that you prefer? If so, which?
2.Can bodypaints be erased? I have never done bodypainting before, and most of my drawings and paintings begin with a rough sketch to block out the basic shape, and afterwards I erase some of the unnecessary lines. Is this possible with bodypaints?
3. Lastly, is there a book in print today that you might recommend.
Thank you.
Regards,
Timothy

I do face painting and body painting with a water based paint from Snazzaroo . You don't erase it but it comes off with water. I've tried several paints and this one is my favorite. Snaz does have a web site and will even list you in their artist section, free. If someone in your area is looking for an artist they can find you. But be prepared to answer the questions of what you charge. In my area the charge is about $150 per hours with 2 hrs minimum. But if I'm allowed to put out a tip cup I'll go for less or even for free if there are enough drunks there. I can make over $1000 in about 4/6 hours if there are enough people available.

1. Any art-shop can help you there. It isn't as obscure as you may think. You can always try a theater makeup shop as they tend to have more.

2. Yes, it basically works the same way paint works on a canvas. The thing is your 'canvas' in this case may object to you using a palet knife to remove the paint. You better get it right the first time. :-)
