So the SAS both Australian and Brittish are among the Worlds crack troops, Supermen in their own rights and extream Endurance athletes. It's terrible and amazing how even the Best Troops are susceptible to an ambush and how a Talliban low life can neutralise a legend ! RIP.

The kind of operations a special forces member does is probably the most dangerous type of combat work available. We should be thankful our casualties aren't even proportionally similar to our British and American comrades.

Unfortunately when you fight on someone's turf, you are always at a disadvantage, no matter how trained you are. I have a lot of respect of SAS troops in terms of their training. I give them credit for helping the U.S. develope their own special forces units.

It really is a sad, sad situation. No matter what your opinion on war, it can not be denied that no-one should ever need to hear that their husband/wife/dad/mum/son/daughter has been killed in a foreign country and will never be coming home.

My hear goes out to this man's friends and family...

Lest we forget
