My skin is very sore to the touch and there are times it is difficult to sleep because of the pain throughout my body caused by my fibromyalgia. Exercise and heat have helped me more than anything but even then I never fully get rid of the pain.

Your swelling might be a sign of Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus so you need to see your doctor and have some tests run to determine exactly what the problem is.

My cousin has RA and has the swelling and the soreness and that isn't something you want to fool around with, as it can do permanent damage to your body so get treatment as soon as you can if that is the problem.

There are different types of Lupus and some are fatal so it isn't something you want to ignore. I have a friend whose daughter died of Lupus and she was only in her 30s.

What is sad is if you do have one of the above, you may also have fibro, too. I have Post Polio Syndrome and Osteoarthritis and have fibro to deal with on top of that.

It's important that you watch your diet carefully and after you get to your doctor and find out what the problem is, ask if you can exercise to help relieve some of the fibro pain. Not everyone can do that so be sure and check first to see if it's ok. My cousin who has RA does water aerobics and then sits in the hot tub for a while and she has found that to be very beneficial and helpful and it makes things more bearable.

Hope you can find out what is going on and can get answers soon. I feel for you. Good luck

I don't know about swelling but certainly extreme sensitivity. From what I saw on a search of the subject there is a cure. I feel that most illnesses are a direct reflection of diet with unhealthy eating practices.

According to my wife, who has fibro, it usually doesn't cause swelling all over your body (it can, but systemwide is not usually indicative of fibro). You're more sensitive to pain, and you do feel like you have bruises all over.

Swelling all over your body could be something besides fibro.
