This is a very good friend of mine who has a very good heart. I think he could be too proud to contact me while he is in there.

IN JAIL. PROBABLY AS STATED YOU HAVE TO BE ON A LIST AS A FRIEND TO WRITE TO, CALL OR RECIEVE MAIL FROM.
IF HE DOES NOT KNOW THIS MAYBE THAT IS A PROBLEM.
THE FACT THAT HE IS IN JAIL AND DOES NOT WANT TO CONTACT YOU OR ANYONE ELSE COULD BE HE WANTS TO REFLECT ABOUT WHAT HAS HAPPENED.
IF NOT HE THINKS BY NOT CALLING THEM THEY WILL WORRY ABOUT ME.
HARD TO SAY WHAT IS GOING THROUGH THEIR MIND UNLESS YOU PICK THEM.
IF WORRIED CALL THE JAIL AND ASK ABOUT HIM AND HOW HE IS DOING?

The phone companies have a racket going on with the pay phones in the jail systems. They charge about $15 or more for a 10-12 minute phone conversation. If the phone malfunctions and cuts you off earlier than the time limit, they will not reimburse you. Your friend might not want to impose on you like that.

People in jail have to make collect calls, that's where whoever they call has to pay for them to make the call and it is like $10.

try to go visit that friend and see what happened. good hearted people espcially if its their first time in jail tend to have problems... its so much stress...try to write him or visit him

Maybe the telephone is owned by larger inmates. And maybe he doesn't like writing letters. These are my two answers.

Let's see. Why wouldn't he contact you? Pehaps because he was IN JAIL?
You could be right though...he may have accepted his loser standing and doesn't want to contaminate you with it.

depends cuz sometimes inmates are not allowed to use the phones. can you go visit him?
