You did not say what status you're in currently (tourist, immigrant, etc.) so it is hard for us to give you the right answer. Submitting resumes and looking for jobs in the Ad would be useless if you don't have social security or TIN.

Forget it, the only way you will go to the US is on a fiance visa. There is really no other way. I am a natural born US citizen and my son who has a MA in software engineering cannot go to the US. We have been trying to get him to the US for 11 years and have finally given up any hope as he has been on the lottery list for that long. there is a possibility that you could come if you have a nursing degree but I know of no other ways although other ways are theoretical possible.

There is an illegal way by coming through Mexico but that is dangerous and expensive.

Are you any good? Are your credentials verifiable? Do you have a good resume and references? Start looking in the help wanted ads, apply for jobs and write good cover letters.
