so if you've read the bible or learned about it what parts or points make you think it isn't true(besides the whole bible)

I have been reading the bible for over 50 years. I have studied it and the scripture of many other faiths. I am very boring and it is my hobby.

If you take the time to actually research where the bible came from and who wrote and compiled it you soon realize that its purpose is to subvert the teachings of Jesus.

It was put together under the auspices of the emperor Constantine to bring the christian teaching more in line with roman beliefs and traditions.

Don't take my word for it, do the research and stop listening to people who know nothing about it but pretend to be experts.

Love and blessings Don

I started with Genesis. There are quite a few flaws in the Creation story, not to mention there are actually two stories. Then I could never get past the begets but I read the Book of Job (which philosophically made no sense if you're taught believing Satan is an anti-God character and what would Job, seeing as how he was human, react after the fact...? Etc, etc) The Book of Revelations, the Book of Esther, many, many verses all throughout (and, BTW, after a certain verse is pointed out as mentioning this or that, I read everything before and after, to see if it's 'taken out of context' so that line can't be used against me later)
Try ffrf.org. It's Freedom From Religion. It will take you step by step through all the errors, inconsistencies and contradictions. There are so many, it's overwhelming.

I don't believe the Bible should be taken 100% literally, if that's what you mean...I just answered a similar question a while ago. The first chapter of Genesis states that animals were created before man, the second chapter states that man was created, than the animals. The Israelites complained to Moses about not having food, but they always seemed to have plenty of cattle, sheep, rams, goats, kids, etc. when they needed to offer a sacrifice after every major event. The population of the earth was apparently wiped out by the flood (not counting the 8 people on the ark), yet was fully replenished less than 300 years later (Abraham was born, and later encountered the Canaanites, the Egyptians, etc.). That doesn't mean I believe the Bible to be a book of lies...it simply shows the imperfections of the people who wrote it and translated it.

How was the bible written?
the bible was written through prophecy.. just like Naustrodamus's work...

Why is it not explained that way to the human race?

Because the church has gained power through it and it entends to deny the true prophecies that it collected..

false prophecies... that the savior was 2000 yrs ago... that is a prophecy.. the man is meant to deliver information to the earth that would destroy religions... nature evolves and seldom is there not an answer as to why? these are just some of the things he is meant to give to the human race.
what happened 2000 years ago.. a man intercepted prophecy and through the catholic church has had the human race spinning it's wheels..
He beleived he could deliver onto himself eternal life... but to convince others to work with him he said he could do it for the human race... but as his followers began to die they complained so he made up a story about life after death.. and heaven.. he knows there is no life after death... so he knows no one would be in a position to challenge him...
Jesus and christ... Jesus represents the man who can give us information that will destroy the church and religion... the christs are those who vow to not let that happen they are what is called the false prophets... now as these things are going on today the man knows who he is.. and knows about the dangers... but the information he is to learn he has not yet but knows from where and who to get it... what they "christs" are attempting to do through the power of religion and manipulation of human behavior is to keep the man away from the one who would give him the knowlege for the earth... christians play bait and switch... and smoke and mirrors to keep the human race enslaved to their lies... That is why when new informations surface especially through science the christians are all over it condmening it before all the facts are in... so the original deceiver who calls himself god.. and his followers who call themselves christ... are working against the human race.... they will stop at nothing to keep the truth from surfacing that is why chirstians are agressive... like the borg.. they assimilate humanity into their lies and delusions.. because those that deceive are coming to the understanding that they will not "win or lose by the man" have eternal life.. in the flesh and there was never any life after death so that was ruled out long ago...

i do now no longer think of the Bible might desire to desire to be taken one hundred% surely, if that's what you recommend...I in basic terms responded an comparable question a on a similar time as in the previous. the 1st financial disaster of Genesis states that animals have been created earlier guy, the 2d financial disaster states that guy grew to grow to be created, than the animals. The Israelites complained to Moses approximately now no longer having nutrition, yet they consistently regarded as though it would desire to have assorted farm animals, sheep, rams, goats, babies, etc. jointly as they mandatory to furnish a sacrifice after each considerable adventure. The inhabitants of the earth grew to grow to be curiously wiped out by utilising the flood (now no longer counting the 8 human beings on the ark), yet grew to grow to be completely replenished under 3 hundred years later (Abraham grew to grow to be born, and later encountered the Canaanites, the Egyptians, etc.). that does now no longer recommend i've got have been given self assurance the Bible to be a e book of lies...it in basic terms shows the imperfections of the human beings who wrote it and translated it.

i would have no problem accepting the tanach (old testament) as it is consistent. but the old and new testament can not go together as they totally contradict each other.

even then though i do not believe the old testament is from god, even though it is very beautiful. i guess there are many reasons why. perhaps there is just no proof that it is true. it is nothing beyond what a person could create i suppose.

The bible has been around forever so it has to have been edited a couple of times. Plus if you think about it the bible has a lottt of flaws and it just isnt beliveable.

Common sense tells me that the Bible is a work of fiction just like the Lord of the Rings trilogy is also a work of fiction.

Because The Cat in the Hat isn't true, either. Books about beings that don't exist can't be true.

Because anytime people who admit they can't explain why the "god " they propose does what he does and then turn around and disseminate his word as if they know all about him have got to be either astucious liars or deluded beyond hope and reason. Aside from the barbaric blood sacrifices and other particular indiscretions of propaganda I cannot put blind faith in obvious prevaricators. thanks for your time hope you have a happy and peaceful life.
