i'm 18 years old but my family members treat me like i'm 12. i've always been a good child, i never gave them anything to worry about, i was manerable, i never ran away or sneaked out late at night. but they still treat me like a baby; i cant go anywhere or do anything without them on my back. i'm a christain so i dont go partying, or clubing, mostly i stay home or go to church, i'm wat you'd cal a house-rat.
recently i went to choir practise and my aunt embarassed me and got me so angry!, PRACTISE FINISHED 1 HOUR EARLIER THAN USUAL SO I CALLED MY MOM TO LET HER KNOW, all of a sudden my aunt storms out of the building demanding that i leave now as she doesnt want anything to happen between my mom and her, i told her i called my mom, but she kept yelling and got me so angry i just left. all my friends my age dont get treated the way i do. i can even have my friends cal me without me getting drilled. i nedd to find a way to tell my family that i'm tired of being treated like a child.

talk to your parents and make an attempt to show them that you are 18..and legally you are allowed to move out..but I think you wouldn't want to hurt your family..so try talking to them even if you know that they will disagree with everything you say you need to let them know how you feel. I'm sure they will notice that you are older now and you need your space.

There's a very simple solution to your problem. You're 18 years old--so move out. Support yourself, you'll be an adult, and then you won't have to answer to anyone in your family.

For what it's worth, your aunt was WAY out of line getting on to you in public like that.

You are 18, so one day soon you will be out on your own.

I'd say be thankful you have a mom who cares (but a nosey aunt)...

Some kids are beaten, sexually molested and abandoned by their parents. Which would you rather have?

If you are the only child or if you are the baby of the family, it's because they are scared of loosing you to the world and you not being the little girl they hoped they could keep.

Well, my advice to you would be to get your parents together and talk to them about your situation in the most respectful way that you know how. Just be open and honest with them and don't hide nothing from them and maybe possible solutions can be offered.
