Exodus 20 is where you will find the 10 commandments. Exodus 20: 8-11 says " Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, ... For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Matthew 5: 18 "I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."

Saturday is the seventh day. (Look up Saturday in the dictionary) Why are most of the services on Sunday? After examining the scriptures above, how can it be ok to worship on Sunday instead of Saturday?

Dave, but that isn't part of the ten commandments which Jesus said would not change.

"Most" Christians feel that somehow Sunday replaced Saturday when Jesus died, partly as celebration of his resurrection, and partly because they say the law (including the 10 commandments) were "nailed to the cross", in other words no longer need to be kept. And the Catholic catechism claims they changed the day of worship from Saturday to Sunday to prove they had the power to change times and laws. So that's the "why" to your question. If a study were to be made of the origin of Sunday sacredness, it will be shown to be pagan....sun worship. Most likely it was adopted by the early Christian church to make it easier for pagans to "join the church"....wouldn't have to change their day of worship. Most people who worship on Sunday don't know all this, and they do so honestly and sincerely. I believe God honors that until they are enlightened.

Pastor Billy says: the Old Testament Sabbath was imperfect even the Jews know this. They wait for it's perfection with the coming of Messiah. Christians have already accepted the Messiah in Jesus the Christ. Christ has made all things new including the Sabbath. OT sabbath can never represent the coming of Messiah and God's new creation in his resurrection it was a ceremonial remembrance of God's first creation on the 7th day. NT sabbath however is on the 1st day as it is a new creation sometimes called "the Lord's day" or as Barnabas of Egypt writes it is the 8th day, why? because Christ rises from the dead the day after OT sabbath.

What has changed is the ceremonial nature of sabbath nothing else.

"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." (Colossians 2:16-17 )

addendum: the argument used for this question is precisely what Seventh Day Adventists employ why? because the SDA originally rejected Jesus as God and messiah. Not many people know this but the man who started the JW organization (Charles Taze Russell) was an Adventist, who came out of the Millerite movement in the late-1800's. The SDA like the JW organization did not look to Christ as God but as Michael the Archangel. Today the thinking on this has changed somewhat by main-stream Adventists yet the root cause of their rejection for Sunday worship has more to do with a rejection of Christ than any belief in a proper observance now. No messiah no perfection of the sabbath hence the waiting by Judaism and SDA sect to this day.

I celebrate every day. I have entered into Gods rest when I abide in Christ 24/7. Just like the first Adam did before sin separated him from God.

I do like to learn about the other Sabbaths of the Old Testament. Because Jesus fulfilled all the Sabbaths also. Even the Pentecost, that was the 50th day. The 1st day following the 7 week sabbath after Passover. This is when the Holy Spirit came in & the Church was filled with the Holy Spirit.

I usually go to Church once every 7 days. To the Church that the Lord healed me in. Where I received the Holy Spirit overflowing & then who healed me from a 1yr breakdown. And the service is Sunday. So? I go on Sunday because that is when services are. And I go other days of the week depending on what is going on. But I can pray to God 24/7. See? That is entering in Gods rest. Abiding in Christ.

Look. I can worship God 24/7 any day of the week. Saturday isn't the only day I can worship God. Jesus fulfilled the Sabbaths. I abide in Christ. See? When people think it is a sin to go to Church any other day than Saturday, they are self righteous & judgmental. This is why it is written for us to not judge others when their Sabbath days are. If the Spirit directs me to go to Church on a Saturday, then I will go. But the Holy Spirit directs me to go on Sunday (mostly) right now. I follow after the Spirit more than following after the written letter so legalistically.

Non-Jews have never been bound by the 613 commandments, including the famous 10 commandments. Keeping the sabbath holy is not included in the 7 Noahide laws meant for all humanity.

At Some Point in Church History, the Church Leaders (Probably Led by the Pope) Decided to Honor †JESUS† Resurrection by Changing the HOLY Day from Saturday (the Jewish Sabbath is Sunset Friday to Sunset Saturday) to Sunday (†JESUS† Rose from the Dead just Before Dawn on Sunday Morning)

Not only do they worship on the wrong day many of them do work on Saturday and Sunday. I believe if you look further into the bible you will find a passage about stoning those people who do not hold the Sabbath to be holy to death.

Truth is, you're right. We have lost the value of 'The Sabbath'. I believe the windows of Heaven are opened on that Seventh day of the week!

Because Constantine's edict declared the sabbath to be on Sunday to bring it in line with the Roman day of worship for the roman sun God.

Jesus was once having dinner with the Head Pharasee on the Sabbath and a man came to the door and was sick and asked to be healed by Jesus and Jesus asked the Pharasee

Is it wrong to heal on the Sabbath.

The Pharasee had no answer so Jesus went to the man and healed him.

Hope you, your husband, mother, father or child don't have a heart attack on the Sabbath for only a Pagan or Non Believer or Muslim or Jew will be available to save their lives.

Oh, hope you have a NON BELIEVER around to dial 911, for that, too, is work.

Never get dealthy ill on the Sabbath if you expect no Christian to save you....

And, by the way, who COOKS your meals. Who does your dishes. Who cleans you in the WC on the Sabbath. Who takes you to church. Who opens the doors. Who dresses you.

Is that NOT work!

On the Sabbath you lie where you are in bed, as you are, eat nothing, have no evacuations, don't even turn. You just lie there and pray.

Anything else is WORK.

Work is defined as excessive caloric output caused by a condition that violates a state of rest.

When are you going to get a clue that Christians are not under the Levitical Law? You totally have no clue do you? That's why you are called lost. What? Don't you know the verse where just before Jesus gave up his spirit, He said it has been accomplished. John 19:30 in answer to Matthew 5:18 or if you have a KJV John 19:28. Atheists, what can you do with them? Nothing, don't have to, God will deal with them.
