I have a brother that thinks he's more talented than he actually is. I know he's meant for something else, but he's convinced he's the next big thing in music. He's developed quite the Jesus complex and thinks he'll change the world with his two chord wisdom. I don't even recognize him anymore, he has become the ultimate poser. It's not that I'm jealous, he's Really not that good. He's also sensitive and would cry himself to sleep if I told him otherwise. How can I approach this without him severing ties and hating me forever?

This may be one of those instances where you are going to have to let him find out for himself. If he is as bad as you say, then he is going to get a lot of rejections.

Your family can try and encourage him not to give up on his education and work on building a career outside of the music industry, while he's trying to make it big, and not facilitate him in inflating his ego, if he is truly talentless.

When his CD doesn't sell, he'll learn. Just let him brag if it makes him feel better. Seems that's all the po' thangs got.
