Nothing wrong with saying you're self-taught - Francis Bacon was, and he's fantastic. But obviously, it's a personal choice. Try the who, what, where, when, why school of thought for the first step, e.g:
My name is blah blah blah, I'm a landscape artist working mainly in oils. I'm based in blah blah. I have been actively working for x years. I paint because...etc.
That's pretty rough, but you get my general idea. Put more than the above into it, obviously - mention where you get your inspiration from, for example. Try looking at other artists' websites to get a general idea.
If all else fails, ask a friend to write one for you, and you can tidy it up afterwards.

You just nailed the problem artists have. We are not good at selling ourselves. I can take ....your painting... and tell the world that it is wonderful and you are a great person, self taught and you paintings are to "die for". ....but I cannot take my painting and say isn't this lovely!!
Maybe get a Friend to write your bio for you. Or get over the stigma and go for it. Pretend you are writing about a friend.
Search other artist website and read their bios and see how they handled it.
that's why artists usually have agents.
lots of luck

Write like you paint. just be creative. There is no law that says you need to cite your educational experience. That being said, to market yourself as a painter today, you'll need to have some sort of honor or credentials. Enter your work into competitions and eventually cite your awards----or get more education.
Francis Bacon slept with the right people in his time. He was under the "protection" of an Austrian painter when living in Paris, and made other types of connections that helped him network while being heavily involved in the Bohemian scene. HIS credentials were his network.
Guess you could go that route too.

Something like...
Marilyn has a fantastical eye for the beautiful, the serene, the daydreamers paradise. Her works are inspired by Carolyn Johnson, and Daniel Merdocci; however, she incorporates her own unique style to make original works of art. Ever since she was a child, Marilyn loved painting: the endless combinations of colors enthralls her, and the new colors one can make excites her. Marilyn, indeed, is an artist-- she feels the enormity of beauty in this world, and knows just what colors to use to capture it.
Pshaw. I made up everything. Well... the quotes of the movie American Beauty inspires:
"Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world I feel like I can't take it, like my heart's going to cave in." - Ricky Fitts
"... but it's hard to stay mad, when there's so much beauty in the world. Sometimes I feel like I'm seeing it all at once, and it's too much, my heart fills up like a balloon that's about to burst... And then I remember to relax, and stop trying to hold on to it, and then it flows through me like rain and I can't feel anything but gratitude for every single moment of my stupid little life... You have no idea what I'm talking about, I'm sure. But don't worry... you will someday." - Lester Burnham
I dunno.

properly the 1st step to write down a e book is to desire to write down it. maximum writers turns issues of their existence into their books. existence is a great source for many writers alongside with my self. So start to got here up with recommendations and start to write down yet dont forget approximately to do a depiction earlier you starts to write down. a depiction is a step by utilising step instruction manual on your e book from the initiating to the top. some questions that could desire to enable you to finding the right theory: what's it on your existence which you REALY wanna write approximately? Is it your undesirable adolescents, your interrests or your mad boyfriend/female pal? How do I turn this right into a realy good tale that many desires to study? Do i exploit comics? Drama? offender? Sci fi? Parody? What term do you wana write approximately? latest? previous? destiny? And dont in basic terms say simply by fact its approximately me it had to be in the present/close previous. think of your self being a soldier in rome or the president of the USA of a or a athletican or a superhero for a start up. attempt to write down approximately your self in yet another term or yet another era or... properly start to think of roughly it a minimum of... be imaginitive and dont fall into the pit of mainstream (the place the brokers/bookmakers gonna say: properly we've houndreds of greater suited books in theese section already) good luck!
