I'm beginning to wonder if Hell is a room full of Fundies and there will be only one station on TV and it will only be the 700 Club. *shiver*
I guess the Bible Thumper here has a direct line to God and will be telling Him who is going and who isn't.

Wow... so the "supposed christians" who answered before me were a lot of help to you, I'm sure. Sorry about that. Let me try to answer your question.. and actually answer it, not just leave you in the dark by saying "When you go to hell, you'll know."
Anyway, hell is eternal seperation from God. Nothing good happens there. God is everything that is good and pleasing. With God, there is no pain, no hurt, no bad feelings, no fear... can you even fathom that in your mind? I certainly can't. But I believe it is the truth with everything that is in me.
Hell is the complete opposite of what Heaven is. So that means, everything that is bad and painful exists in hell. The Bible says that there will be a lake of fire, and there will be constant crying and nashing of teeth.
What does that mean? You will literally be burning in a lake of fire for all eternity. You will endure a pain that doesnt even exist here on earth. A pain that is so bad, you will actually nash your teeth together. Do you know what "nash" means? It means you will crush your teeth because the pain will be so unbearable.
If you have anymore questions, I would be happy to talk with you. Please, let me know.

Both. When an unrighteous person dies, their soul goes to Hell, just like a righteous person's goes to Heaven.
When Jesus returns for His people, our bodies will be resurrected, and changed to go to heaven.
The unrighteous will be resurrected, and then Judged at the White Throne Judgment. Then, HELL WILL BE THROWN INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE. THAT IS WHEN THE UNRIGHTEOUS WILL BURN FOREVER IN TORMENT, BUT WILL NOT BE CONSUMED.
Alice S--Jesus said these words Himself! What Bible do you read?????

I'm convinced that hell is a place where fundies go and eternally point guilty fingers at each other , and try to "save" each other from returning to life.
I wish them luck in this effort.

Hell is everything bad because God and all goodness is in heaven. None of His goodness traits will be found in hell. Only pain, suffering, hate, misery and the like will be known in hell. The choice is yours.
EDIT: Sorry, did not say hell is NOT fire because fire was a part of physical creation of God. None of His physical creation will be in heaven nor hell.
Since hell is a spiritual and not a physical place, it is forever. The spirit does not burn up like the flesh. It is eternal agony.

In Revelations of the Bible, it says hades is thrown into the lake of fire. Hell means the grave..... that isn't what anyone has to fear. The lake of fire is the second death which means you are destroyed. There is nothing to fear in it except ceasing to exist and the pain of dying a second time.
People shouldn't come to God because they fear the punishment, they should come to Him because they love him and HE loves them. The Bonus is eternal life beyond anything we can imagine here. No pain, No death, no crying.... just eternal happiness.

The torment and torture.
Luke 16:
22: And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23: And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24: And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

There is no fire and brimstone in hell, but the pure anguish and regrets in your mind, knowing it will be an eternal separation from God. Instead of fire, hell will be dank, cold, and dark. Your mind--the memories of what you did in mortality--will be your living hell.
