The bible, while not intended to be used as a weapon of judgement, lends itself too easily to the agendas of those who would use it so.

You see it is easy to take a simple verse and use it to support an argument. It is entirely something else however to use a verse *in context*, which is the failing of most fundamentalists.

Lack of *real* religious education is what is to blame here.

It take any good scholar years to understand the full context of any holy writ. Fundamentalists read verses...they don't read the "Bible."

Because God is real, and everything God wants us to know is written down for us in the Bible, and the Bible is what we guide our lives by, so it's perfectly logical that we refer to the Bible when an answer calls for scripture.

Why do so many Atheists reply with the same, tired line, "Christians can't think for themselves."? All that does is prove we're not the only ones.

I do exactly not examine them. If human beings have a lengthy fact to make I like it in the experience that they in simple terms upload a link to their answer. countless issues are copied and pasted besides, so why no longer in simple terms supply the link. i bump into that very use finished.

The Bible is a book if man could write he would'nt. And wouldn't write if he could.

Luke 4;4 - And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.
Luke 11;28 - But he said, Yea rather, blessed [are] they that hear the word of God, and keep it.
1 Peter 1;23 - Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
Romans 10;17 - So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

You know the old saying. If you can't dazzle them with brilliance, then baffle them with B.S.! Bible Babble is the means which baffled them. So they don't really understand what it is they think they believe.

I think they think that if they try hard enough to convert you, they will get brownie points with the big man in the sky with the white beard, and that it will increase their chances of getting a reservation on a big fat puffy white clouds, with a harp and wings of their own.

just my opinion...

Because there's so much misinformation about Christian beliefs and scripture, we usually have to correct the untruths within the question before we can even answer it. Good question. God bless you.
