I have read that to be a Master of Arms you have to be at least an E-3 is this true? or can you become one with a lower rank because i have heard you can do this as well?

MA is now open to initial accessions. although to be honest, it is an over manned field and there aren't many slots available.

I joined a year and a half ago and was enlisted as a master at arms and an E-1 you start out as ma then to ma1 ma 2 ect depending on how you advance ect.

my sister was just a new recruit and only scored a 67 on the entry level exam and she became a master at arms right away...

just talk to a recruiter i'm sure if they're is some entry level requirement they'll pull some strings to get you into it

It's been some years back, but as an E-2 you are a striker, and at E-3 a full seaman. So I would think that you would have to be at least an E-3
