I know this sounds strange coming from someone who is Pro-Israel, but I think the strings attached to the aid simply is not worth it.

This article might help explain why In think so better than I can.

This idea gets raised every now and then by naive people.

The solution is not to stop the aid, but to make the U.S. officials aware that Israel needs to be strong and cannot be strong if a Palestinian sate should be created.

Different right wing parties have been encouraging the government to stop taking aid so Israel can follow it's own policy without US interference and to support the Israeli defense industry. What is good for the US is they get to keep 2.4 billion dollars and probably another 2 billion if they cut it to Egypt too.

Anyways Israel was doing pretty good on there own before they started to get the aid. it was actually when they started to get the aid money that Israel has slowly begun to decline

The United States gives aid to many more countries around the world then you know about. Israel is one of many. The continued support of Israel is a necessary thing. They are the smallest country in terms of population and size in the middle east. They have more sworn enemies that want to see them blown off the face of the earth, then I have fingers and toes. We need Israel for its strategic importance in the middle east and for the safety of the world as a whole. World War 3 is not going to start because China, Russia, or the United States went to war against each other. It will start when some pissant country does something really stupid like set off a nuclear device in Israel. We have to prevent this scenario from happening. Right now the only way we can do that is aid to Israel.

The aid should continue to Israel, but the conditions should stop. Th U.S. controls 75% of what it gives to Israel in aid to determine what Israel spends its money on. This is very unfair as the U.S. gives aid to Palestinians, Egypt, etc. without any conditions.

Sorry...Sorry..Sorry. ;m going to blow your mind.

I donate to Ethiopia, and will continue.

But I'm going to borrow your argument for another form of aid.

Do we have to subsidize drug addicts?

It costs us in crimes. It costs us in money. It costs them continued pain, in their life of "Hell-on-earth".

Sometimes we know they'll never be well. Why waste money on a lost cause, when starving africans are valueable human beings.

All we seem to do is prolong their suffering, and the relapses also prolong society's suffering (from theft, to feed their monkey, and driving drugged out, etc.)

Couldn't we let them crash and burn at some point, recognizing a hopeless situation?

This is so outrageous that I feel like withdrawing the idea, but it makes more sense than letting starving children die, when we can try to help them.

If you would turn your back on those precious, innocent poor people in Africa draught areas, do you really feel obligated to spend infinitely more money to keep the merry-go-round going for LOST "druggie"/criminals?

Forgive me if you are a so-dependant facilitator for a hopeless addict.

Wouldn't their tortured life be better ended than a crying hungry little one, who could become a "great" and useful person someday if fed and educated?

Sorry...Sorry...Sorry!!! I'm on the edge of an idea.

Yes, because I believe Israel will do well on its own and even better.

I happen to agree with you on this.

Israel is being set up for a provakation with cluster bombs for instance.

When they retaliate they have cluster bombs in their arsenal that the americans gave them.

They use whats in their arsenal and you know what happens then.
