Why or Why not?

If he has ideas I support, yes. His sexual orientation has nothing to do with his fitness as a politician. That would be like judging someone on the color of their skin. Just plain stupid.

My instinctual ansewr is yes, I would, if he or she were the best candidate. Why? Because personally, I don't give a rat's @$$ about what a politician does in secret.

But I suppose the qualifier is what position? As a senator, or mayor, or something to that effect, without question, I would.

However, as president, I would need to consider the impact that would have on relations with other countries. I'm an American citizen in process of immigrating into Canada, so I've got two countries personally to consider. The leader of Canada could well be homosexual, and it wouldn't matter. Heh, Canada's often accused of being "The world's gay friend" anyways, and rightfully so, since Canada is perhaps the single most gay-friendly nation in the world.

The USA, on the other hand has far different approaches to international affairs than Canada has. I fear a homosexual president (or female president for that matter) would severely complicate already delicate issues. Currently, i think the US couldn't handle a homosexual president until things stabilized. IE, no more war in Iraq, stable economy, not being in such terrible debt, etc.

Once the USA was in a good state of affairs, I'd be happy to vote a homosexual in as president... again, if I otherwise agreed with his/her standpoints.

And again, for lesser positions, I couldn't care less.

I would care more about a politicians stance on the issues and there honesty and experience than sexual orientation.

So yes I would vote for a Homosexual politician if I saw him/her as the better candidate.

No, I don't think I would. I don't think the world is ready to accept a homosexual leader of the free world. As a society the US is kind of split on accepting homosexuals or not. In other countries, they are either readily accepting them, or they aren't.

I mean, Muslim countries are mad at us for being Christians...how much more hatred do you think they would turn toward us if we elected a homosexual>?>?>?>?>?>

I don't care.

I'd vote for a homosexual transvestite pirate if they had a good political platform. Who the heck cares about what a politician does when he's off the job, provided it's legal?

That depends on whether or not he/she is qualified for the job. Sexuality, religion, race, etc does not factor into whether or not I'm going to vote for someone.

Yes. I have in the past. Our city had a gay mayor, and I was one of the people who voted him into office because I agreed with his platform.

If I supported their ideas and believed in their integrity, yes. A politician's sex life is the least of my concerns.

Yes, I'm not saying that I am homosexual. But if their plans for us sound good, than I'm all for it. I don't care what you are, aslong as you have somthing to bring to the table!

Yes. It wouldn't even occur to me to think about their lifestyle. If they are good citizens and have a platform I believe in, then yes I would.
