i feel that as christians we need to try to not argue with those who disagree with us in the R&S section, we wont get anyway and they just end up insulting God. but instead we should pray that God forgives them because they do not know. No one has done it i just want to give support because i know how hard it is not to fight back. Praise the Lord!
my question is, is this the right thing to do? am i wrong? honestly please tell me, i just want to give support. im not judging anyone please dont think that! i am just curios as to what the christian thing to do is.i love you all!

It boils down to speaking the truth in love. I see what you're saying and of course, at any time, God sees our motives for what we say to anyone........is it out of anger, hate, jealousy, condemnation, ignorance, yadayadayada. As Christians we are encouraged to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but always in love......the love of Christ. There are times we are required to rebuke, though. Remember all the times Christ rebuked the religious leaders of the time. Seems they were after Him on every hand, yet He faced them squarely and called them hypocrites. He angrily turned the tables of the money changers over in the synagogue. It's called righteous indignation. We are allowed this. The problem is sometimes that's not what's happening when a Christian gets into a wad over something. Again, the motives of our heart must be pure and not some personal vendeta. It's naive to think the Christian should never be confrontational, because Jesus was just so many, many times. But, He is our source for the love we must have for the lost and each other. In the end, we can only try to adjust our own hearts, and be an example to others.......we cannot change the way Christians or non-Christians behave on R & S, but we can pray for all and ourselves to behave the best we can. Bless you for posting.

To ask God for forgiveness for those who disagree with you is to belittle the faith that they put so much of their life into. While your message to pray for those people may have been designed with good intentions, it actually reflects the message that "free will" is nothing but a concept.
I propose that rather then praying for people for whom you feel have not seen the truth - you should focus on being the best person that you can be. If all of us make such a commitment, then come the day we meet our maker, He / She / They will not only see that we have love in our hearts, but our actions dictated the highest possibilities that one could ask for.

I agree with you, if by arguing you mean trying to offend the other person. But if you're intelligently debating a religious topic it is perfectly fine to argue - this site is for asking questions, and it's good to challenge other viewpoints in an unhurtful way. Question everything, because knowledge is important. Sorry, I'm an atheist, but the "no atheists" links just beg for me to click on them.

I like the premise of your question, that people with different belief systems should not fight.

But debate in any form is fine. It's just the insults, when believers claim that we deserve eternal torture for not having the same philosophy on gods. But you are not one of those people. Cheers!

I totally agree. I wish everyone could discuss differences without hurling insults and knocking each other. Yes, prayer is the most powerful thing there is. And that's something we can do freely.

While nothing we say can change a person's mind, perhaps it will provoke thought on the subject, and hopefully reading of the Bible, so that they can find out the answers for themselves.

The only people Jesus confronted were the Pharisees (lawyers) and the money changers (bankers). He taught to the rest of the sinners. That's what we've been called to do.

Yeah, don't bother praying for me,... you're wasting your breath. You could pray to a rock, or god... the response will be the same...
Nothing!
