Love is a channel of expressing ones liking towards the other person.When we feel happy there is a feeling of sharing it with a close person.Even though love is common, its characteristics are different , which depends upon the nature of relationship.In simple words we love ,because we want to share joy-moments with the loved ones.

Your question is so short but so hard to answer.
It is almost the same as why do we breath?
All i know, is that, I am created like this with this weird feeling of loving - I also hate for a reason(s).
It's just like why does some plants flowers?

I don't know if I can be simple, but I'll try....We love because we want someone to share our lives with, to give our hearts, our lives, and ourselves to. No one wants to be alone in life. To love someone feels good, it makes us happy. And we all want to be happy in life.
